It lights me up to show audiences they can go from chronic caregiver mode to unapologetically holding up their oxygen mask first! My refreshing approach has made me a sought-after, award-winning inspirational speaker and Calming Calligraphy workshop facilitator. Before running my own business, I worked for 32 years as a Registered Nurse.
Nowadays, you will find me speaking at conferences, looking for the next great gluten-free bakery, and searching for a designer fashion bargain — all while serving corporate clients, and teaching inside my private creative community, Calming Calligraphy Academy.

Ever since I was young I was the go-to girl for reaching the loudest decibel level each time I opened my mouth.
As a toddler, my parents would stand me on top of the coffee table and I would sing and entertain at our extended family gatherings.
After being exposed to the limelight in that way at a young age, I craved the attention for years to come. I’m a Leo after all!
In school, I would have become a billionaire by age 10 if I had received a dollar each time I was told by a teacher that I was talkative.
Although I’m sure I drove my teachers crazy, they were quick to use my talent for speaking by choosing me as the one to make school announcements, lector at church, star in lead roles in school plays, and enter public speaking contests.
If there was a message that needed to get out, I was the one to deliver it – no microphone necessary!
My beloved Grade 3 teacher used to say “Angie, for a little girl, you’ve got a BIG mouth”.
The fact that I was the youngest of 3 girls in our family was definitely a contributing factor to my booming voice. Hey, I needed to be heard!
High school was much the same – lecturing, performing, singing, emceeing, etc.
This is where the loud tire screech comes in. After high school, I did something completely out of my element and went to nursing school. Feeling like a dolphin in a freshwater lake, I began to lose my voice – little by little over the years.
I grew further and further away from the person I was born to be.
For the past few years, I’ve been peeling back the layers and getting my voice back.
Now I’m back on the stage and shining a spotlight on others to help them find their voice, realize their dreams, and give themselves permission to live an extraordinary life.
