Have you EVER written a letter to "future you" from the "present you"?

I did just that in the fall of 2020 when I was encouraged to try this exercise during a course I was taking.

In the letter, I congratulated my future self for having launched my Calming Calligraphy Course in the first quarter of 2021. Although I wrote this lofty goal down for myself, I had no intention of following through with this at such an early date.

I completely forgot about the letter I had written and the promise I had written myself. While tidying up my workspace this past weekend, I came across this letter that was shoved in together with a bunch of other paperwork.

Needless to say, I was a little shocked because I had completely forgotten about it. And, as you know I DID teach the Calming Calligraphy Course last month!

Is this intention setting at its finest or subconscious mind following through? What do you think? Have you ever had an experience like this? Let me know in the comments.

Both can help with the reduction of stress, depression, anxiety, thus improving quality of life!

Welcome, new followers! It’s been a while since I introduced myself, so here goes. I’m Angie, a Registered Nurse from Hamilton, Ontario Canada 🇨🇦

I love practicing Calligraphy because it brings me a sense of calm, focus and fulfillment. More than anything, I love to teach calligraphy to fellow stressed-out nurses as a way to help them cope with the craziness of this Covid pandemic.

Want to hear something embarrassing?. I’ve been posting Calligraphy videos here for over 3 years. When I was first started, I used to spend SO MUCH TIME trying to make the perfect post/create the perfect video. I would spend hours trying to make things look just right.

Luckily I learned my lesson, and these days, I realize my energy and efforts are better spent teaching people how practicing calligraphy is more about the process than the end product. All the goodness of the practice lies within the process of creating it.

Inevitably the more you practice, the more your calligraphy will improve...just like anything else.

I’m happy to say I’ve learned a lot along the way, so if you have any questions, leave them here and I’d be more than happy to answer! What’s something you learned the hard way?
